Pierogi Dinner! We're ready to serve!
For additional information please contact Roberta Berry (Coordinator) or June Zowasky through the Parish Office.
Mission: Provide an opportunity for members of the St. Bede community to get together to make cookies for Christmas and then different types of pierogies in order to hold a "Pierogi Dinner" each February or March. Funds raised help support our church.
Who are we? Women and men of St. Bede the Venerable Church. The community supports the dinner with help from the Boy Scouts and the Youth Group.
What are we? A group ministry started in 2004 as a way to encourage fellowship amongst members of the parish.
What time investment is made by those involved with this ministry?
- First meeting: once at the end of September in order to plan for upcoming Christmas and season and Pierogi dinner.
- Weekly meetings: From October to the end of February, meetings take place in the Fr. Tulley Center kitchen where all cookies and pierogies are made fresh by the DoughRaiser$. Wednesdays from 10 am to 2 pm and Thursdays from 7 pm to 9 pm
- Christmas Sales: Cookies that were baked and then boxed into 1 lb boxes and then sold after all Masses two weekends before Christmas.
- Pierogi Dinner: Tickets for the dinner are sold two weeks before the dinner. The DoughRaiser$ cook for the dinner. Typically the Boy Scouts and the Youth Group will volunteer to help hostess and serve at the dinner. It's a group effort that brings fellowship and good food to the parish and the community.
"It's not about the money we earn, but about the community of people."
